Thanks Mark for your comments and compliment.

Rankings is an art form. I now believe if my LI public URL was ColleenChan rather than colleenchan it may rank above other Collen Chan’s. But too late now can’t change the C’s to CAPS.

It is the “sheer quantity of the headlines” that has to be sifted through to find the quality that I find overwhelming and whether people can see through this quantity to see me. Something I can’t seem to get my head around. Though quite surprisingly, I do have Twitter followers :-)

It seems I cannot get away from the hype...

Great article but getting website ratings up still sounds like art not science. There is another take on Twitter. It is a series of headlines selected by source and/or subject matter. The real information is in the links. Think of it as micro-blogging. .

"As most regular readers of this blog know, I'm a regular user of the Twitter micro-blogging service. As I try to explain to the uninitiated, the fabled 140-character limitation imposed by portable communications devices isn't really the drawback it may appear. To me, it's all about a "headline and a link" and the link will be to content that is not constrained by 140 characters. But for many, the "headline" may be enough, which makes Twitter's very brevity and sheer quantitity of "headlines" valuable in itself." courtesy of http://twitter.com/jonchevreau

Also, this survey:

"A month-long poll conducted on business social network LinkedIn has uncovered some fascinating numbers concerning social media platforms and brand presence. The biggest surprise was that Twitter was deemed more important to brands than LinkedIn, and the poll was performed on LinkedIn. With more than 3,600 respondents so far, each well understood in terms of job titles, company size, age and gender - this is a high-quality data set worth paying attention to. The question asked was simply: "What is the most important new platform for brands to master?" Options were Twitter, Facebook, the iPhone, Digg and LinkedIn." http://tinyurl.com/yzjz6ce

Thanks Mark for the compliments :-)

I have been given links and stories related to Twitter since the posting, it seems to work for some, maybe need to spend some more time on it.

'Numbers' ... can't seem to get past go :-(

Great writing and description of your journey to be noticed, (the connection of numbers with words). For myself, I am not sure about the value of using Twitter and still ponder upon its effectiveness in my business, however if I can make a link then I would use it! Thanks for posting and good luck with your further 'numbers'
